Hong Kong International Tea Fair - August, 2012

Tea Board participated in Hong Kong International Tea Fair from 16-18th August, 2012. Secretary, Tea Board and DTP were deputed to organize Board's participation. The following seven exporters participated along with Tea Board :-

• M/s. North-Western Cachar Tea Co. Ltd.
• M/s. Miracle Tea and Spices Co.
• M/s. Pekoe Tips Tea
• M/s. Tea Experts India Private Limited
• M/s. North Tukvar Tea Co. Ltd.

Coinciding with the exhibition, several other activities were organized like conference, country-wise tea tasting/ tea appreciation sessions and Kamcha preparation competition. Kamcha is a typical Hong Kong style milk tea which is brewed and boiled much like Indian Dhaba style tea. The organizers even had a competition for Consulate representatives. Various countries' Consulates participated including India. Mr. S. Dalan represented India. This competition was basically a solidarity event and all participants were awarded prizes. It reinforced a common goal, which is to popularize tea.

Participating exporters were happy with the level of trade enquiries generated. Five of the seven participants expressed the desire to participate in this event next year.
