Tea Board's Participation in Food & Technology Expo 2012

Tea Board participated in the Food & Technology Expo, held from July 27-29, at Pragati Maidan at Pavilion Hall no. 7, 7A and 7B of International Trade Promotional Organization in 36 sq. Meter stall. This fair had two concurrent shows -- (1) Hi-tech Agriculture & Horti Expo and (2) Government Achievement & Schemes Expo respectively.

This international show focused on Food Grains Processing, Food Processing & Packaging Technologies, Processed Foods & Other Agro-Commodities Industry. The advancement in agriculture and horticulture, pre and post-harvest technologies, agro-finance and insurance products were displayed at the show. Government Achievement & Schemes focused on the achievement and welfare schemes of various departments under Centre and State Governments.
This was a very effective platform to popularize various tea brands of India amongst semi-urban and rural sector of the society. Three tea traders – (1) Ambootia Tea Co. (2) Peico International and (3) Mittal Teas participated and shared the pavilion for display of their brands. Large quantity of tea was sold in bulk and packet by the traders. Liquid tea was also served as sample to visitors.
Overall participation was very good in conveying the right message, it was found to be a very effective way to popularize various Indian teas amongst urban, semi-urban and rural sector of the society. Highlight of the event was the visit of farmers who showed keen interest in tea.
